Anandi Rao is a PhD candidate in Comparative Literature at the University of California, Irvine. She received her BA in English and Arabic from the University of Edinburgh and has a MA in Literary Translation from the University of East Anglia. Her dissertation is titled “In the name of Shakespeare: (En)Gendering India through translation. ” and lies at the intersection of Global Shakespeare studies, translation studies, postcolonial studies and gender and sexuality studies. Her work has been published in Studies in South Asian Film and Media.
